8th Grade’s Top Ten

Restaurant Edition

Today’s journal topic was inspired by this article in Advertising Age: http://adage.com/article/news/mcdonald-s-1-rank-millennials/240497/

McDonald’s may be the country’s No. 1 fast-food chain and one of its most-beloved brands, but when it comes to millennials, the Golden Arches says it doesn’t even rank among the demographic’s top 10 restaurant chains.

So while McDonald’s is trying to figure out how to get the Twentysomethings back, they’re still doing okay in the teenage demo, at least according to our small sample at NLRCA.  (Interestingly, none of the students acctually ranked McDonald’s as their number one choice, but so many had it on their list–and usually fairly high up–that it racked up the most points.)

So without further ado, here are 8th grade’s top 10 restaurants:

There were more than 60 restaurants chosen by the students, including many local places that just didn’t have enough votes to make the top ten. (Although, sadly, no mention of Mrs. Edwards’s favorite, The Faded Rose.)
